FORMATION OF STATE REDCO

NAREDCO deals with and represents all matters related to real estate development by both private and public sector, including planning and layout of colonies, construction of residential, commercial, institutional buildings, development of townships, provision of physical and social infrastructure etc. Besides representing these various interests, the apex body is the spearhead for evolving, recommending and pursuing the formation of policies by government authorities in relation to all aspect of real estate development.

At the state level, NAREDCO in association with State government will assist formation and establishment of Real Estate Development Council (REDCOs) for various states in India. These state REDCOs will operate as autonomous organizations with their own constitution, funds, membership base and Governing body. Each REDCO shall operate in relation to the defined geographical region of the respective state. As NAREDCO operates from National Capital, the functions / activities as defined for a state REDCO in respect of National Capital Region shall vest with NAREDCO.

The state REDCO shall be a nodal organization at the sate level as based upon the constitution of NAREDCO at the centre and it would promote the housing activities in the respective state. The formulation of state REDCO would bring self- regulation and ethical conduct in the real estate sector, which is today mixed by some unscrupulous fly-by-night operators. The unique concept of State REDCO which has the state government as well as the public and private sector representation shall lead to quick redressal of the problems faced by the various interest groups in the housing sector.

In order to expedite the formation of state REDCOs, the Governing Council of NAREDCO designated Mr. Sumit Jha, Assistant Director as the nodal officer for this purpose. Mr. Jha would interact and co-ordinate with the respective state minister for Urban Affairs/ Housing, government officials, real estate associations, developers, brokers and others for the early registration of the state REDCO.

Based on the initiatives taken by NAREDCO the following State REDCO has already been formed and have started their developmental activities:
